Western Montana is beautiful, as that is what the Rockies go through. Eastern Montana is flat in comparison. Wyoming is also flat in comparison. A friend doing a motorcycle trip said, "God must have great plans for Wyoming, because he didn't put anything there!" Driving through it, it became boring. That was following I25, so other parts may be more interesting. (I've made the trip a few times.) Following interstate highways that way, it is over ten hours from the border to where I grew up (next to Whitefish). For Montana scenery, check out A River Runs Through It (1992) - IMDb

Everything is hilly compared to that
Speaking of which, don't you find mountains funny?
I find them hill areas!
Pretend I never said that...

Great movie with a somewhat sad ending...
The Wyoming movie is probably The Hateful Eight.
It's the only movie on this list[^] that I've seen next to Brokeback Mountain, but that one was many years ago.

Maybe this? Funny to put a face to a song I'd heard several years ago. Great song, too!

Doesn't ring a bell.
Nice song though.

I used to have one 89 years from now, but I lost it on my last trip, so now I'm stuck here!

I prefer to do my time travelling in one of these[^]. It's got a few more extras, like a cloaking device, disruptors and photon torpedos.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

OK - so you get your flux capacitor, DeLorean, plutonium and stick it all together, and whack it up to 88 mph. Fat lot of good it'll do you, but I guess it's as good a way of committing suicide as any.
Forget 1,000 mph at the equator as to earth rotates on its axis, forget the 67,000 mph of the earth around the sun. Think instead of the more than half a million mph of the solar system around the galaxy. Going back 30 years - ignoring the one minute to make the transition - and accepting that with an orbit of 230,000,000 years around the galaxy so the distance can be considered as a straight line, you are going to end up in a patch of space about 135 billion miles away from the earth.
Whoops - sorry - I forgot about the local super-cluster. Hmmm... 300kms towards Virgo, say 186 mps - seems like a further 176 billion miles away.
Looks like in those 30 years the earth has moved away by up to around a third of a trillion miles. Sorry, a DeLorean just isn't that fast, so the only remaining question is the mode of your death - will it be by being frozen solid in an instant, or by exploding due to your own blood pressure.
See how much trouble you can get into by not doing your maths?

All you say is correct. The answer is that timelines follow the gravitational field that you started in. That is why you can timehop to the same point, 30 years earlier.
(I learnt this in a course on Introductory Temporal Physics and Warp Fields given by Zephram Cochrane. )

Too many people would try to change history to something that's more to their liking.
Look at how much of a revisionist George Lucas is, and that's without him owning one.

Yes, I attended the same course. You probably remember me as the guy who kept interrupting him to tell him he was talking obllox.
It's all specious any way - 2.1 gigawatts simply can't warp spacetime over a third of a trillion miles. You would need to double that at least.
