Women will pay $5 for a $10 item they don't need.
Men will pay $10 for a $5 item they do need.
Such is life.
If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

So I see the whole of high performance, load balanced , fault tolerant, high volume transactions systems making use of Node.js in recent years. I guess before Node came into existence, It was all about J2EE , Enterprise standard .net, Biztalk etc etc, Some form of Distributed design towards performance/ scalability.
Node.js, with its V8 power has clearly taken the focus light in recent years. Most of the big companies should be using Node.js in one way or other.
Now Node is not brand new, (Initial release :May 27, 2009) it's already a decade old.
Just curious what the industry is looking up to, now.
Is it just Node.js V10, or something totally new coming up ?

I couldnt put up a respectable, single worded equivalent for J2EE.
May be I should say, Asp.net- MVC- EF - IIS -Biztalk-blah-blah?
For Microsoft , Was there anything like "J2EE" that bundles up things into a single enterprise grade buzz word?
Or it was always a simple ".net"?

An enterprise is simply a large company. There's no "enterprise" version of .NET, but I already know that won't stop the programmers from using it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. On the other hand, what do I know? I'm a desktop programmer, we folks have a slower pace of changing toolsets than the web ecosystem.

Maybe that's why desktop applications don't have the sheer number of bugs found in web applications. We're not constantly looking for the latest toolset fad.

Pretty much my first thought was "somebody is going to stick that where the sun doesn't shine" - and it probably isn't going to be their brush they use...
