I thought you must be imagining things but then found this[^].
I don't remember it, so I guess I just happened to anagram the same word.

Greg's anagram was different to mine though - I wish I'd used his!
TBH, when I saw the question this morning, "indefatigable" was the word that popped up instantly, 13 letters confirmed it, and then I saw the anagram. I didn't remember that I posted a similar one 5 or 6 moths ago: my memory is nowhere near as good as my wife's - she can remember things I did (or didn't) do decades ago. At great length.

Nothing to do with memory - it's genetics...

... then this 3-letter-word "bad" has all 8 possible combinations which are actually words again...
as a non-native I found that quite funny and coincidentally found it.
with b/p and a/e and d/t which all sound more or less similar, we have 3 "bits" which leads to 8 possible combinations:
bad-bat-pat-pad-bed-bet-pet-ped
and each of them makes sense! ... I couldn't find anything similar in german (my native language)
while "ped" gave me this definition from google translate
Definitionen von PED
Substantiv
a performance-enhancing drug.

It's not clear to me exactly what your chars as bits means - and as a native speaker - the substitutions you make are inexplicable.
However, let me point out that before PED was some sort of drug it definitely had another meaning[^]. A brand for all sort of peripheral items. More specifically, picture at top of page.[^]
Take the above as a little "Gift" for you (Oops! Austrian meaning a bit different than English)

Yes i can imagine that its not easy to predict, what substitutions appear "logical" to me - in german it's the "hard" and "soft" version of each, d=t, b=p which get replaced and a=e because in some english words they are close in how they are pronounced ("anger", "entry", "bank", "bench" ..)
anyway - for a german speaking mind (ok... maybe just for MY mind ) it was logical - I told that my family - they all found it amazing and funny

Very many moons ago, when I was learning (Scientific) German in High School, the textbooks often had what were intended as jokes - the instructor(s) tried to explain this a "German Humor" - but it barely made it. Similarly, for much of the UK's idea of humor, they fall flat quite often in the US.
Now, to be fair, with a few exceptions, what passes for comedy today, at least on US Televisions, is also in a pretty sorry state.

Since you have eight symbols, you could create a pronouncable, readable form of Brain [^] through simple substitution.

I just opened the Forbes website from the Insider newsletter.
Got a cookie popup, more info and went with the default "Required only".
On save, I get a loading cursor.
"We are processing the requested change to your cookie preferences.
This may take up to a few minutes to process."
I waited at least half a minute!?
How the hell and why do you need half a minute to save cookie preferences, I've never seen anything else than instant
I wonder if they ever need "up to a few minutes", which would probably scare any regular web user away

Oh... They just saved any piece of information they could collect before saving cookie preferences and legally forbidden to do so...
