Unpredictability is a requirement when you want to join the Forces of Chaos.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

True.
I sometimes like chaos but sometimes it scares me.
The images may not be unpredictable though.
I should consult the zen masters.
It may change what appears on the screen.

Don't worry. This is perhaps true for everyone. Everyone has wicked thoughts lurking in the dark corners of their mind.

Yes.
That was the purpose of the post.
Thanks.

This makes me wonder, since I have unsubscribed from the Daile News - is there a place on this site to look them up?

Wow, how could I have frequented this site for so long and miss that forum!
Yes, that's pretty much it. I've unsubscribed from DailyNews because I noticed it just took up too much of my time. But sometimes, when I have the time, I wondered what's going on everywhere in the world.
Getting the Daily News as a pull rather than a push service would have been nice - but I guess that forum works just as well.

"A computer".
Can that computer be your own, running that software offline, disconnected from the rest of the world, and with all so-called "telemetry" disabled...?

I think you are up again tomorrow Paul - all I've got is an x or y in the clue

Difficulty??
It has 10 characters. Y is the variable. Phobia is fear and there is two F for gods sake.
I am up tomorrow?
cheers,

Well it's possible.
But not with that solution!

Correct, but out of time: 2 minutes past the four hours I'm afraid.

Having fiddeled with Java (specifically JavaFX) for a few weeks, yesterday I ran into a problem that I just could not solve, regarding signaling between threads. I checked dozens of suggestions by Google that just did not pan out. So I took a deep breath, opened a Stack Overflow account and posted the question there. Horrors! A CP member asking questions on SO? Stone the heretic!
However, within an hour a *real* Java expert posted a complete mini-project showing how my problem can be solved. I was very impressed, since he obviously wrote the mini project in response to my question.
Confession: I may use SO again! I'll get my coat.
I am not wrong. I am just different!

Your experience is not the same as mine. The responses to my questions (I've asked two) were neither useful nor polite.
I use information on SO if it comes up in search results, but I don't bother asking questions.
