The couple of still-alive Yahoo groups I subscribe to moved to groups.io a while ago.
A lot of the others won't be missed....

Same for the one group I'm in. The crippling of group functions VZ did some months ago effectively killed the platform. IIRC all the was left was a klunky mailing list feature, with everything else removed; it was destructive enough I didn't understand why they didn't go directly to full shut down at the time. What's happening now is a mercy killing.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Generally speaking, there should not be anything free anyway. Nothing is free in this world, so if it seems free at first glance, it is because you get screwed in an non obvious way.

I don't remember who told it first but...

Na, you bought a self-satisfaction feeling by "giving" away some useless objects.
I can't believe you are such an egocentric person.

My you sound happy!

I think we're long past the point where anything Yahoo-related had any relevance to anyone but Yahoo employees, its board of directors, and its shareholders.

I don't think it's had much relevance for its shareholders for quite some time; I don't believe Yahoo shares have existed since 31 Oct 2016.

Loved downloading songs(and other media) from USENET with the funky RAR encoder, where if you missed like #23 out of 55 total, you were hosed!

Although many of us are already aware of it...
I recommend you to read the book "Code Zero" by Marc Elsberg. (I just read it this weekend)
I found the thriller story good and even for the non techies might be interesting. As it explains a lot of the virtual world giants, data / privacy and so on, but without getting to too technical, so they can follow it up.

I suppose the one who wrote that doesn't have tiny kids
But in my case it kind of was it... I started it on Friday noon and finished by Sunday night.
