Many years ago, we started a hike over a mountain in NH (Waterville Valley to the Kancamagus Highway) too late in the day. Fortunately, I had a flashlight and managed to keep finding the trail, which included creek crossings. We were lucky not to get benighted.

CodeProject can now legally order a drink south of the border (in the USA).

True, but who wants watery 🍺?

Thank you for recovering that repressed memory for me.
(It's been over 20 years since I last drank a US beer)

To be fair, mass-produced Canadian 🍺 is very nearly as bad. But there are a lot of good microbreweries on both sides of the border.

This place serves beer that will curl your hair: https://www.skagitbrew.com/[^]
They have their "Two Penny Ale" for example, which they can't legally call beer in Washington state because it has too much alcohol in it.
Plus you can skip the side of (good) food. There's enough substance to the drinks.

The beers look interesting, but it's a little far for me to go for a night out...

I'm not a drinker but I've had some of that beer before out of curiosity. "Watery" doesn't come to mind. =)

I like beer with substance, but not too much alcohol. But I drink far more wine than beer.

They have some of those too. I don't really drink, so I've only sampled a little bit of what they have, but not all their drinks are that high in alcohol.

I have had those before, they are called barley wines. One I liked was aptly called, "Old Knucklehead." It's a seasonal "beer" (now is the season) and one place I used to frequent served it in eight-ounce glasses and would cut you off after you had three of them - a pint and a half.
