I didn't think much of it until now...
But now I think their founder is a thief!
What kind of company is that btw? Seems to be computery related... from the name...

I think it is a company I would never work with... Even before the news...
Its site looks awfully poor and non-professional...

Looks like this guy and his investment company have been doing some very shady business deals. I am not surprised.
tax evasion? not surprised. agreement to not prosecute - not surprised.
billionaire, not surprised.
Bezos is a billionaire and owns the Washington Post. I wonder if Bezos has done anything illegal?
It just seems like the pot calling the kettle black. you don't make it to the top like that without stepping on people and bending/breaking the rules.

Seems Pfizer's vaccine had too much lipstick after all.
Curious how "their" (virus) vaccine in "one generation" had morphed into The Thing (relative to previous strains).
Yes, the new Moderna vaccine doesn't require special (gold-plated) handling.
It was only in wine that he laid down no limit for himself, but he did not allow himself to be confused by it.

But yes, it's great that Moderna's vaccine doesn't require super-cold. I hope they can spin up their manufacturing partners fast. (The biggest advantage of Pfizer)

which makes me wonder/think/ponder as to what in the world is do different between the two vaccines that one requires super sub zero temps, and the other does not.

You never had Lego, right? Build some Lego models of the molecules and look which one is more likely to break apart.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

I wonder if the scientists used Lego bricks in their modeling for the vaccine.

Most probably not. Are you trying to tell me that you not only never had Lego, but also never have written a program to simulate the properties of a lump of proteins?

Many years ago, when I was working on Telecommunication Network Management - and ISO ideas of layering still was a reality - we bought a box of Lego for our project. We built triple towers of user, control and maintenance protocol stacks, lego bricks of different colors representing each layer, with wool threads between the towers, of colors representing the protocol layer.
It may seem like a childish idea, but to us, it most certainly helped us visualize how messages flowed at different protocol levels. And the distinction between user data, control and maintenance.

Figuratively speaking, they certainly did. For them, the bricks were computer-aided molecular modelling program(s). There are quite a number of them around. There are languages that describe molecules and their bonds and the programs can display them.

The carrier structure (for lack of the actual word). Both are mRNA (modified to use a novel base), but as loose mRNA is pretty rapidly scavenged/destroyed, it needs to be in a container. As far as I know, they're both distributed in liposomes, but different ones. The stability of the two differ and lead to the temperature requirements. (from what I've read, anyway)

We need a lot more than just 2. When Nature looked at the 10 most promising candidates a few months ago, their makers collectively expected to have 11bn doses available by the end of 2020. Most of them are 2 dose products though; so that total probably falls short of global needs even before factoring in that some wastage will be inevitable and that assuming all of them will work is probably being overly optimistic.
