Yep, the brand new company PC I got just over a year ago "can't run Windows 11".
Of course, it would be too much to ask for the app to explain why it can't run it. Just a generic "you can't run this" message should be enough for anyone.

I dare hope, for now, it's the state of the alpha preview and more platform support will be available on official release!

Same here - my Surface Go 2 "can't run it" despite Sysinfo telling me that it meets or exceeds the minimum specs.
I suspect the tool is buggy, or just plain stupid.

After digging around in the BIOS, I finally managed to enable the TPM and SecureBoot, and the tool now says I'm OK to run W11.
How any non-technical person is supposed to do that, I have no idea.

I couldn't find anything in the BIOS, but running tpm.msc it says the chip is ready for use. But the Windows 11 tool says my system is not compatible.

Same here. It really would be helpful if the tool told you which item(s) was the problem.

Seems that most new MOBOs have a connector on the MOBO for the TPM module.
I did a rebuild a few months ago and found the TPM module for mine, inexpensive as compared to new MOBO.

I doubt this. TPM 2.0 chips have been shipping in PCs for about three years now. Finding a TPM 1.1 chip is nearly impossible. Unfortunately many PC makers are still shortchanging security by not turning on the security hardware they're selling. Likewise, the other requirements aren't an issue either unless you're really cheap.

TPM security chip.
I did not even know this was a thing until I read the Windows 11 hate articles yesterday on various tech forums.
My knee jerk reaction to this is: what a great way to force people to buy new computers (with the TPM chip, of course).
I see how-to articles on bypassing the TPM chip, but honestly, how many "regular" users will do that...zero.

Okay, I did not know this.
Interesting then why they would make it a requirement for Windows 11 then, and not before. I need to research the "why". there is always a "why".

If you had a TPM chip and Secure Boot enabled, Windows 10 could use them to provide a supposedly more secure boot experience - the BIOS confirms its security with the TPM chip, etc., creating a secure chain up to the O/S. What has changed in Windows 11 is that this is now mandatory.
I can think of all kinds of reasons for this [insert your favourite conspiracy theory here], but the most worrisome is that it may make help anonymity on the Internet a thing of the past. This will be a boon to Law Enforcement, Banking, etc. - and also to any repressive regimes out there.

If your build is that new, there's probably a soft TPM option hiding in your BIOS somewhere.

No if you go into PowerHell, as admin and issue "get-tpm" it displays TPM properties and when I do it the system shows that it's not there.
But I can get a TPM plug-in module from MSI and others, which is currently unavailable EVERYWHERE.

powershell can't change bios settings.
If it's off in the BIOS as far as windows, or any other OS is concerned, it won't exist.
