If you think that sounds wrong, you'd have to hear me on the chat when I send a bunch out. I seem to need to add sound effects for them (and only them for some reason - need to discuss that with a therapist).

You know how some people are afraid of clowns?
That's what your avatar looks like to me! Frightening.
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

My tennis pro asked this, guessing that it would be similar to being a mathematician.
I said that was only one aspect, that more often it was like being an engineer, architect, detective, or lawyer.
What would you have said?

But we dress it up and call it refactoring.

Unless I'm certain management isn't around in which case it's de toring.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

It's like nothing else.
At best it's like being a composer or playwrite, but not really.

Part time sanitation engineer, part time lion tamer, part time priest, part time vampire, part time snake charmer, part time psychologist.
Depends on what sh*t code you're working on for a project you inherited, which uses some front-end framework you know nothing about, so you have to pray a lot and suck the blood out of SO and otherwise charm the code into working while appeasing management.

Drain cleaner.
Quite a bit of crap has slowly accumulated over time in production code.
Suddenly, the flow, instead of gurgling through the cruddy* pipes, comes to a dead stop.
Somebody has to get in and clean out the gunk.
That is the job that falls to the programmer tasked with making the system work again, perhaps with new requirements thrown in to make things more difficult.
- Now you know why database commands are referred to as CRUD (Create, Retrieve, Update, Delete)!😂😂😂
