Glad to hear that, now get on with the ironing - I don't mind it once I actually start - my wife suffers from arthritis in her arm which ironing aggravates

I suffer from idleness which ironing aggrivates!
Decided I don't have time to make much of an impact now so squeezing in half an hour's work before hospital.

I'm not really hungry I'm ravenous

That's clever! 'Nervous' looked like the anagram indicator and 'cocktail' as the word to be de-anagrammed (or whatever the correct term is); whereas, it was actually the other way round.

Being picky, though: ravenous means being very hungry; devouring means eating something hungrily. The two are related but "ravenous" certainly doesn't mean "devouring" so the clue's not really in the correct form...?
(Am only posting this 'cos I'm really, really ticked off with a "user" who is changing the requirement, not telling me WHAT they're actually doing (supposedly I'm FTPing a file into a folder; actually I'm talking to a custom-written service of theirs using the FTP protocol, and they're not returning correct FTP status codes); and all this being done on our live server (because of good reasons) but meaning that finding the data they want is like a needle in a haystack because of data volumes, and.... he's just interrupted me from even making a comment on a crossword clue! Sheesh, some people need to get their priorities right... )

As for the user, have you ever considered they might look better holding up part of a building?

After 120 years of independence, Australia has returned to its origins - arrivals at its shores are no longer allowed anywhere without a Ticket of Leave.

I can never read "Botany Bay" without hearing it in Chekhov's voice from Wrath of Khan.

I was under the impression that Foster's beer was the Australian equivalent of sheep's eyeballs.
