It's 42.

We did by accident hire a youngster that didn't even know that. We have tightened up the process since - If you show up to the interview without a towel it's a no-go!

I assume that the position requires lots of travel, which is not reimbursed.

They will certainly go on a very long travel if they try to outperform Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings when there are team events.

That's just the answer! The important thing is the question!

"What is 6 by 9?"

Certainly not 42 ...
But if you go to the source, you will see that they are still working on finding the question, and they expect it to take some time.
I suspect that at least half of those referring to '42' never knew the source. (Just like people refer to Big Brother and Newspeak without really knowing what it is about.)

"What is 6 by 9?" was the question to the ultimate answer. It was broken, because the earth (a giant organic computer, commissioned, built and operated by mice) was broken.
It's from the book(s)
To err is human. Fortune favors the monsters.

In base 13, 6 x 9 = 42. Perhaps Douglas Adams was trying to tell the triskaidekaphobiacs something...

Lends strange credence to the notion that our universe is just a program running on someone's hardware, when we build a universe running on our hardware.

You are correct! And I believe you've won the honor of the next puzzle.

Is it
wonderful wizards = magi
a wee warm = cal
?
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

I think it's:
wonderful
wizards MAGI
a wee warm CALorie (One calorie is the heat energy that it takes to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius.)

wonderful (definition)

a wee warm calories[?] Not at all sure about the -cal bit. Caliente?

Greg is correct -
My intent was calorie as a measure of heat, with 'wee' being an indication for an abbreviation of 'calorie' to 'cal'.

Great.
Is it possible to make it open source accompanied by an article here on CP?
|
|
|
|

The original, (real), Wordle, pretty much is open source. The entire game, including all the words, is written in JavaScript and sitting in your browser.
