Hi,
we, the Software Engineering Group at Trier University (Germany), are currently
conducting a survey on the use of sketches and diagrams in software
development. We want to gain deeper insights into the work of software practitioners
(developers, testers, architects, etc.) to call attention to their
actual work practices, which we think is rarely done in academic research.
It is difficult for us to reach software practitioners, therefore I post my call for participation here.

There is a very, very tall coconut tree and there are 4 animals, a Tiger, an Elephant, a Giraffe, and a Squirrel, who pass by. They decide to compete to see who is the fastest to get an apple off the tree.
Who do you think will win?

Is that a non-migratory African apple, or a European coconut?

The one that knows that you don't get apples off coconut trees, unless someone glued an apple there (you see - you supplied incomplete information, so we're having to make assumptions here).

True, but I suppose gluing an apple to a coconut tree is fairly unusual - but than given the nature of man + gin & tonic, I guess I should be careful about my assumptions.

There is the additional problem that giraffes are native to Africa, tigers to Asia and squirrels to Europe and North America. Outside of a zoo, there is nowhere that these three species would be found together.

Perhaps there is an apple tree next to the tall coconut tree, as odd as that may sound
