Actually, all Americans should care. Corbyn is a unilateralist and is the leader of the Labour party in the UK. If he ever got into power, he'd be a poor friend to America.
I'll stop now - this is bringing politics into the Lounge.

A dangerous idiot. Not running at the moment, but leading the Labour party into the wilderness. Let's hope you never do have to care. If he (or anyone like him) ever gets into power in this country we are doomed.

I'm not. The day he gets in is the day I leave.

If this is the level of your economic analysis (ie. complete bunkum!) then I'm sure you two will be very happy together.

Are you saying that they just stopped building houses for no reason at all and leading more money to debt slaves does not pull in money for the banks as house prices go up.
Maybe it must just be the will of god

Do the fricking math!
If a company with initial capital CAP issues 10 25yr loans a year at the going price of 1000 currency units with a total return of 120% on the loan over that period (the numbers are not as important as the principle ... you can work it out using current rates and the more complicated interest calculations later on if you need to) then
... if prices are stable (ie 10 loans in year 25 cost 10000 as they did in year 1) it will be year 21 in which income first exceeds outgoings enabling capital to start to recover from CAP - 99200 which it reached at the end of year 20.
... if prices rise by just 1% year on year (ie 10 loans in year 25 cost 12697) it will be year 24 in which income first exceeds outgoings and capital will be recovering from CAP - 114442
Now given that price rises have been considerably greater than 1%, that interest rates are low and stable, and that high prices inevitably mean an increase in defaulters at a later date, please tell me again how rising house prices are good for the banks. The only way for moneylenders of any kind to make instant money is short term loans at exorbitant interest rates (credit card companies and pay day loan merchants take a bow). Banks do not have that luxury.
