I gave up on Edge within a few days. It's full of bugs. I'll try it again in a year or so.

Stunning images, thanks.

(Never mind, the characters seem to show up all right in IE, Chrome and Firefox.)
Hints:
1. Gave this classic programming advice, which I still catch people not following (though given the answers so far, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. )
2. Occasionally writes checks [sic] that are greatly treasured, despite their small nominal value.

The clue, of course, is the quote:
"Premature optimization is the root of all evil"
He is also known for sending a US$2.56 check to anyone who finds an error in his programming books.
