Didn't that inspire FarseBook to "throw a sheep" at friends?

Anybody got any idea on how to create a working shortcut to MS Edge?
I ran it, ran Task Manager, found MicrosoftEdge.exe, went to containing folder, found the .exe, put a shortcut to it on the desktop, double-clicked - and - nothing, zilch, nada!

If it is the default browser, any URL would do
Otherwise, create a batch-file - it must be somewhere on the path.

Chrome is my default, and I'm damned if I am going to create a batch file for it - let it go hang!

I noticed lot of web sites seem to think Edge is Chrome.
I may not last forever but the mess I leave behind certainly will.

'Tis not an Edge case, 'tis a basket case. Or will turn you into one.

Find it on the start menu, click and and drag it over to the desktop.

Hmm... - that worked, but I tried that first using a right-click drag, and it didn't work. I didn't want to move it, just get a shortcut. It also locked up the desktop for about 2 minutes.

You could try to move it back to the start menu and then drag to the desktop while holding CTRL pressed.
No idea if this will do or not... but...

I just grabbed it with a left click (actually a one-and-a-half tap on my touchpad) and dragged it and it worked perfectly.
|
|
|
|

So it did with me - eventually. It also left the original in place, which is what I wanted. But why no left-click drag? Weird!

Sorry - my mistake. I meant right-click drag, which is what I have always used until Win10.

Use this as location (target?)
Quote: %windir%\explorer.exe shell:Appsfolder\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MicrosoftEdge
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Thanks for that - I should have googled first! I'm still sulking over the removal of right-click drag from all programs in the start menu.

Classic Shell[^] will bring those back.
I use it and I LOVE it.

Damn - I forgot all about that, despite having installed it on my wife's 8.1 laptop a year ago. Downloading as we speak!

I can't stop to discuss that now!
I'm busy trying to convert my long-cut to MS Edge into an as-far-away-as-is-humanly-possible-cut.

Department meetings this week; out of town colleagues are all here.
Went to dinner as a group at a restaurant that highlights game for the evening meal.
Entrée choices: halibut, salmon, shrimp, venison, bison, kangaroo.
I opted for the venison; it was supposed to the 'gamiest' - enjoyed it, but grew up eating moose, so, I knew what to expect.
I've had bison burgers... enjoyed that.
Tried the kangaroo... interesting texture and flavor.
What have you tried for the first time, outside of your normal dining choices, and what were your impressions?
