Because you can never have enough backups!
Because something might happen halfway through and wreck both disks.
Because you might need it in a month's time when the SSD gets eaten by the dog?

Without a dog, you are asking for trouble !
«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. But stuff that is in the middle category you don’t want to restrict unless there is a clear way to work around it.» Eric Lippert, May 14, 2008

Is Her Indoors a good substitute? She's certainly got a bark on her. She frightens the life out of me sometimes. Not so sure about the bite, though.

If you really just transferred the HDDs from a different machine, it's probably being fired up by drivers who are saying "Sh1t! I can't work with this hardware! I'd better reinstall myself, because it must be my fault!"

I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary when using the new machine and I'm on it for most of the daylight hours. This is one more reason why a re-install might be a good idea.
Being an .exe, and a big one at that, I can't think what created it.
