Is that from "Peterman" being the name for a safecracker?
Don't get the "talk to him" bit though?

No it's just Peter is a safe - I probably should have made it: "Is it safe to talk about him"

I thought 'peter' and very nearly committed it to paper (or whatever it is we're supposed to call this virtual stuff we're typing on, into, over). But then I dismissed it as just silly! No comment on your clue, obviously (and if you believe that .... )

Because I did, and I have to agree with the Grauniad: Top Gear: Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc launch new series – as it happened | Television & radio | The Guardian[^]
It wasn't very good.
It's a new series, with a completely new cast, so I expected the first episode to be a cracker - the best they could do to drag us all into the series. And it wasn't, it was a struggle to watch all the way through. I tried to like it. I really did. But not one giggle; not one smirk; definitely no laughs escaped me. It's like the crew of the Original Top Gear (when it was a car show) had tried to take it back instead of keeping it as a comedy show with cars. Sad.
Will I watch episode two? No, probably not...
