The only reason we have defensive programming is because we also have offensive management

We also have offensive programming ... it's anything in VB!

I happen to like VB(.NET, mind you!) and find your post very offensive

Why so surprised? There's no end of offensive programmers.

That moment....
Yesterday after a long day in hot, sunny and warm Netherlands when you stop at the yellow M and order menu's for 8 people/kids. And then that you find out you forgot to order a bottle of water. Went back to order it and the pretty blond gives you a receipt to pick up that bottle at another counter where about 25 people are waiting for their meals being made, more people add the crowd and your nr 56 does not come up in the finished menu part on that screen. My fries cold, I was glad I had a salad. But no teenager at that pick up counter that scans all the order for small or single items. It took 33 minutes waiting for that 1 bottle. The were astonished that I complained about it. I asked her if she needed a ticket from a her boss to go too the loo....like she can only workout orders by tickets....
In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

Yellow M and environment....
- plastic balloons at large
- plastic toy at a happy meal
You know how many bottles of water was used for that?
( not mentioning the plastic around my salad..... )

Well this is a new approach. You appear to be digging the hole you're in wider and deeper yet! I hope it's not so that you can throw all that unnecessary plastic in it afterwards!

After asking for your valuable comments under this subject, I'm Thinking of Changing My System[^], it is finally up and running, and I am very pleased with the result.
The most striking improvement is opening VS Community 2015. Under my old machine, to open VS to the point where I can choose a project to work on took over 7 minutes. The new machine opens it in just on 30 secs. An improvement or what!!
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to help me make my final system choice. I would particularly like to thank OriginalGriff for suggesting AOMEI Backupper. That did a great job transferring the system off the old HD to the SSD.

That'll be the SSD!
It so quick on loading apps, that I tend to close them when I've finished with them, and re-open them when I need them. Before the SSD, if I opened Paint Shop Pro X6, I'd keep it open because it took a minute or so to load. Now? X6 (and X8) are around 6 or 7 seconds!

You should not - he does it for percentage
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Another old, self-specced machine which was very slow. A very good reason to replace it.

For a minute there I thought you might be plugged in to our corporate network. 7 minutes is about right for a reboot on my office system .
