Did you know outside Europe and North America you need an International Driving Permit? Not having needed one for 20 plus years I'd forgotten.

Yes.
All you had to do was ask...
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

I can use my license in US and EU for 6 months without any additional fee - for more permanent staying I have to ask for extension and it costs good money...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Don't worry - I'm sure the DVLA can provide one on short notice, without requiring you to fill in a boatload of pointless application forms.

Luckily I can get it from the Post Office. Now all I need to do is find a Post Office.

There's one a mile or so away from here, it that helps.
Mind you, it'll close for the day in half an hour or so...

There was one next to Woolworths last time I checked.

Of course a permit is needed to drive in the wrong hand lane.

At least you recognise that Nagy is currently driving on the correct side of the road.

Nagy is meant to be driving on the correct side of the road.
Whether he's actually on the correct side of the road, or even on the road at all, depends on how much liquid lunch he's consumed.

Nagy doesn't drive while drunk. Ergo he never drives.

We've been there on June (Traviata at the Fenice theater) and had a very nice stay.

Word of warning. They don't have dominoes pizza in Italy so you might want to take your own.

Knew a guy from New Zealand who went to college over here. He said he had no problem adjusting except having to consciously fight the temptation to turn left on red.

Pretty sure you only need one if you get pulled over. Otherwise, drive on young fella.

Does that mean I've been driving illegally every time I've visited Oz to see my grandkids?
I wonder if I can claim back all the fines I've received for speeding. It's so hard to keep to 40kph on the Canterbury Road in Melbourne; a 3 lane dual carriageway around Mitcham where they live.
