I think that thought came from Uranus.

Just read this[^] that purports to know how to kill Cortana on Windows 10 Anniversary Edition.
May be useful to some.

Some of us are luckier than others - I am a Brit, living in Cyprus, and they don't yet have a version for Cyprus, so not installed.
However, the page has been bookmarked for future use, thanks very much.
As a footnote, the Cypriot dialect is considerably different from that of mainland Greece*. With a population of under a million, they may not bother.
* It has been reported that some time ago when the Cyprus president, with a very rural accent, met the Greek president, with a strong Cretan accent, a translator was required.

All I know about Cyprus (besides a few people from there), is that Georgiou Panayiatou (spelling?) is from there and as George Michael the Poms made him famous.

fyi: I upgraded to Win 10 Pro a few weeks ago, and I tried the Group Policy edit technique described in the link you cite, and it just didn't work: Cortana appeared in the Task Manager no matter what, and killing the process from the Task Manager banished it for only a few seconds.
I've also tried using WinAero Tweaker to turn off Cortana, but that hasn't worked either.
What did work was an earlier technique published on WinAero: [^]. If you use this technique, I strongly suggest you think carefully about the warning provided in red on this page.
«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. But stuff that is in the middle category you don’t want to restrict unless there is a clear way to work around it.» Eric Lippert, May 14, 2008
