Quinctilius Varus, give me back my legions (of the damned)
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

VB = Varus BASIC? That explains a lot.
The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.

"No, from Canada."

I predict that there will never be VB versions 17, 18, or 19.

Yes, the man was the General Custer of his time. Only, the 7. Cavalry still exists.

Oh come on! Windows phone is pretty good but Microsoft turned up late to the party and everyone had bagged off by then. I did switch to Android eventually so I could see how late my train would be each morning (if it actually turned up) etc. but I somehow feel Windows phone was more refined. For a more sophisticated owner.
I have a hard time getting excited about operating systems. Windows 10, runs applications, it's got files and printers and internet and stuff. There's nothing wrong with it!
Regards,
Rob Philpott.

The trouble is that WP was late to the party - and even when it arrived first via Windows Mobile MS ignored it until Apple started making loads of money.
But instead of saying "hey, WM is a bit rubbish, but we can make it brilliant!" they decided "all systems need the same OS" which downgraded the desktop and over engineered the phone - check the system requirements for WP vs the equivalent Android device. That made the phone stupidly expensive, loaded it with piles of unnecessary software complexity, and added nothing significant to the user experience - except to annoy loyal desktop users.

I have a 950XL and it is a good machine - the facial recognition does improve as it learns you.
It does get hot though - esp. on Snapchat for unknown reasons..

I know what you mean about screen size. I broke my 6" phone, last year, and I couldn't find a 6" one with dual SIM slots (not for a price I considered was worth paying, anyway), so I had to replace it with a 5.5" (with on-screen buttons, too -- I'll watch out for that, next time), and it feels a lot smaller.
(Note: I'll slap the first person who replies "that's what she said")
I've noticed that a lot of phones seem to heat up more, these days. I'd put it down to more powerful processors, but it may be that they've learned more about tolerances (or that they want them to break faster, because people buy replacement phones very quickly).
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

I'm the opposite. Bought a 6" phone and hated it. It is too big for pockets and it fell out one too many times. Gave it to one of my kids to use for playing games and bought a smaller phone. Lucky for me, I buy cheap phones so the two of them still cost about 1/3 of an iPhone or similarly overpriced phone.
