I think the problem is that the teachers don't understand what a "client-server" model is and as a result their students don't have a clue either.
And testing websites on the development PC (which is also the server) doesn't discourage that misunderstanding at all. How many times do we see server code with Messagebox.Show in it?

I remember someone, this time not me but out application architect, leaving a message box in a 'never happen' branch of the server code.
Guess when it hit the branch? About 3 frickin a.m. one night, luckily I wasn't in bed. Actually I had been in bed, but I was on my home and had stopped off for a beer...

Why use MessageBox? What's wrong with writing to a log?

Some more for the list:
- Using
MsgBox / MessageBox.Show from the code-behind; - Using
Process.Start to try to open a file on the client; - Using the
FileName property of a FileUpload / HttpPostedFile to try to read the file directly from the client's disk;
All of which "work" when you run the site in Visual Studio. Maybe we should be blaming VS for encouraging incorrect reasoning about the code?
Then there's the "There must be a way to bypass this security feature - my client requires it!" brigade.
And the "I need to show 1 million records in one page without filtering or paging, and it needs to load in less than one second - it's a client requirement!" brigade:

Bag Boy: Yes, ma'am.
Agnes: But I don't want the bag to be heavy.
Bag Boy: I don't think that's possible...
Agnes: What are you, the "possible police"? Just do it!

FOCK! You have some stupid clients. I hope you're taking advantage of them.

Weddings, christening and those awful work parties that you're forced into attending!
Ah, I see you have the machine that goes ping. This is my favorite. You see we lease it back from the company we sold it to and that way it comes under the monthly current budget and not the capital account.

I see a pattern evolving in your function naming scheme. I'd hate to use your libraries.

The WookieTab is dual boot - and it upgraded Win10 to AE last night (successfully, and with much improvement, I was surprised.)
But I just went to switch it from Windows to Android and it's decided to upgrade itself. So it's sitting there going

The general consensus seems to be that that message is wrong.
It should read, "Don't turn off our computer".

I updated mine it took best part of twenty four hours and left a windows.old folder over 20gb but it seems to have worked - I got the message you mentioned several times and it rebooted god knows how many times until it finished. I had to use cleanmgr to remove windows.old though.

Mine took 45 mins to an hour, booted twice I think - and made a massive difference to the system, particularly the touch-pad on the external KB. Before, it was a PITA: oversensitive, random f**king about with the display, useless to use. Now, it's like a lappie touch pad - not as good as a mouse, but very usable.
Which is yours? The Z8300 or the Z8350?
Where did you get it?

Don't know what you mean by Z8300 or the Z8350 - all I know is it's a Chuwi Hi10 10.1 - I bought it from a dealer on eBay who is based in Hayes in the UK £147.99 and so far I'm very pleased with it - I mainly run Android though

Ah! It's the processor: the Hi10 uses the Intel X5 Cherry Trail Z8300 which is the same as the Hi12 until the middle of last month, when they switched to the Z8350 version. It's a little faster, apparently: but not a massive amount!

It has the advantage that you get the whole machine to yourself.
Which means that you can directly compare Win10 and Android on the same hardware. And trust me, there is just no comparison as far as footprint and speed are concerned! Android is much, much smaller, and in 4GB of RAM it flies, where Win10 staggers a little.
