I was working a night club in Arizona in 1971 and he came to play so I got a chance to meet him. He played his popular stuff until about mid night then to the people that where left said, in words I don't exactly remember after this many years "...enough of this bullshit let's play some music..." and sat down on a chair for what seems like 2 hours and just jammed. Best blues I'd ever heard to that point and it got me hooked.

Saw a documentary about him some time ago where he was playing some blues, it was awesome. Aside from his relationship with Chess records, I did not know of his proclivity for the blues.

This is really good news: CNBC "Mini-nukes and mosquito-like robot weapons being primed for future warfare" : [^].
How much better than the hospice-and-respirator-sink-to-oblivion would be getting a little hit of polonium from a near invisible flying nanobot, or experiencing yourself smithereening as a mini-nuke went off ?
I hope I live to see this glorious future !
cheers, Bill
«When I consider my brief span of life, swallowed up in an eternity before and after, the little space I fill, and even can see, engulfed in the infinite immensity of spaces of which I am ignorant, and which know me not, I am frightened, and am astonished at being here rather than there; for there is no reason why here rather than there, now rather than then.» Blaise Pascal

It just keeps getting better and better. My question is why did they give Dr. Kevorkian a hard time when the people is was helping were consenting adults. Maybe they should have worn combat boots and a helmet then the he wouldn't have got into so much trouble?

Sadly, it's utter nonsense -- little more than publicity for a speculative book -- so you'll have to find something else to help avoid low blood pressure.
Try QA. It seems to work for lots of people.

Quote: "When we talk about making conventional nuclear weapons, they are difficult to make," he said. "Making a mini-nuke would be difficult but in some respects not as difficult as a full-blown nuclear weapon."
A Littleboy/Fatman type nuke is as simple as you can get; just miniaturizing it enough to fit on a smaller bomber or missile is a huge undertaking, shrinking it enough to fit in to a 6" artillery shell resulted in a design so inefficient that it used something like 5-10x as much material as a conventional nuke for a 5-100x smaller yield. (Not enough volume for a spherical implosion, so the design was a large pancake of plutonium with pancakes of explosive on both flat sides; it could just barely be compressed enough to trigger a tiny amount of fission before blowing itself apart again.
...
Quote: Del Monte explained that the mini-nuke weapon is activated when the nanoscale laser triggers a small thermonuclear fusion bomb using a tritium-deuterium fuel. Their size makes them difficult to screen, detect and also there's "essentially no fallout" associated with them.
Oh, they're talking about a pure fusion device. Something that's only been the holy grail of nuclear engineering since about 1950, and like fusion power has only been 30 years in the future since it was first proposed. And they're going to do it using a mechanism that currently requires a sportsball field worth of equipment and megajoules (gigajoules???) of input power to an enormous laser system to get a few joules of fusion out.
At best this is clickbait drivel of the most wretched sort. At worst it's the sort of F*** N*** that various political idiots are beating each other to death over.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

...are you supposted to reach the Balmer Peak on a Saturday evening when you discover that you have already drunk all your GOOD liquor in the liquor cabinet???
Is it really necessary to start on all the bottles you have collected on all your strange vacation locations but don't really like?
Who wants to work on a saturday evening anyway? (but is forced to do so because he didn't do the job he was supposed to do during the week )
Can't somebody just send me the codez plzzzz?

I have found that under those conditions, the code just works. Never try to understand how it works - you never will. Just accept that it does.

That's my experience as well.
Ok, the whole Balmer Peak thing may be a joke, but I've found that my programming is actually just a little bit better if I'm slightly sloshed (but not too much)
