If you watch Wick 2 without the context of Wick 1, it is what it is. I "liked" that it included the host of Iron Chef as a super villian ... or was that Wick 3?

I saw the first one and then the second one. The first one was unique if not slightly over the top. By the time I was most of the way through the second one, it felt like college kids trying to consume more cans of beer than the next. John Wick 2 had the feel of: lets double the body count to make up for a weak script. I figured the third and fourth would be more of the same and decided to spend my time elsewhere.

It was a "demonstration". It included visuals and stunts not seen in previous versions or "other" movies. More "characters". "Liking" or not liking are acts of the will.

for a stunt even Mr. Wick has not performed you may wish to view the "The Equalizer 3" Preview though not for the feint of heart .

No need for the question mark:
A line say, STRATE (Sounds like "straight")
after
a Christmas visitor? MAGI
He will decide
MAGISTRATE

Of course being picky (and when are we ever not picky?) the clue should refer to Christmas visitors, "magi" being the plural of "magus". But yes, a nice clue!

Thanks, I usually struggle to make clues, but this one just came to me.

Just nit-picking. Shouldn't it be ...after Christmas vistors... Magi is plural, Magus is singular.

Maybe you can find a standard document. You might even find two, or three, or four - each of them standardizing some other variant.
In any case: The standard you (might) find, may be of little use: The tool you are using follows a different "standard". At least two or three variants can be labeled "widespread". If you hear anybody claim that there is a single dominating dominating variant, a proper reaction may be 'Oh, so that is the variant you are using?'
