I'll be hoping - it'd be a lot better to watch than "Celebrity Masterchef" which Herself will be viewing Friday (and will insist I'm present for).

I hope for you that it happens.
"Waiting for Aurora" might not be the best excuse for not being present

You could be right. I'll call it "Janet" instead.
Oh, hang on ... that might not work either ...

That's the current conditions, predictions are for a fast CME (> 1000 km/s) arriving tomorrow afternoon. Depending on arival speed (it should have slown down a bit) and it's magnetic directions Kp values could become quite high (7 or higher). Note that those kp threshold maps are not exact science. If you're in a dark spot and with a good camera, you 'could' spot it more quickly (aka more south).
Granted, a lot of ifs

My daughter has done some of those in her art class in High School. Pretty cool stuff.
There are two kinds of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

To be absolutely fair, these are infinitely better than anything I'd be able to put together if my life depended on it, but his use of "realistic" in the URL must be from a definition I'm not familiar with. Shadows in most pictures are all wrong, perspective is bad in a lot of them, and if he was going for "realistic", then his renders are all way too clean.
But again, this is a lot better than anything I could do. I'm just pointing out that when you claim to have made something "realistic", you open yourself up for all sorts of criticism. I'm sure people working in his own field will be a lot less forgiving than I am.

I maybe getting old and mixing you up with someone else, but I'm pretty sure it's you that is still using an ancient Trackball.
Just found an article showing that Logitech are releasing later in the month a new Trackball[^]. Might need to put it down as part of this years Christmas present to yourself.

Thanks for that Mike!
Mine is still going strong - I replaced one of the microswitches a few years back, but they are built pretty well so there is a few years life left in it yet!
And ... it fits my hand, it's comfortable, it's like an old jumper...

But you might spare in the cupboard for when it eventually wears out.

Michael is the given name and the name I go by. Mick is the only correct way to shorten Michael and all my mates and everyone (even here on CP) I know calls me Mick.
