Rondò Veneziano - Arlecchino[^]
So I just had to wake up at 6:45, which really isn't much earlier than my regular 08:00 and even a lot later than my previous 05:00.
However, it hit me like a rock and for some reason I was reminded of a very specific period from my morning newspaper delivering days (which I did for about eight years, do that's not saying much).
Anyway, there was a time I woke up to Rondò Veneziano every morning and that's what I'm listening to now.
So it's a bit of an impulsive and last minute SOTW, but surely one I can get behind
It's kind of like he (or actually they) brought baroque into the 20th century (maybe their latest work includes dubstep and they even got it to the 21st, I don't know).
Anyway, enjoy

Wow, especially Non-eternal is really very great!
It somehow reminds me of a lot of movie and game soundtracks all at once
I'm definitely going to listen to more Max Richter

Is "mem" short for "someone who's going to have a rough time staying awake during the day"?

Of course I already knew this, being a metalhead and all

So I thought to give a report on this (mind you I lost over a week before setup whilst on vacation):
The Lounge[^]
I put Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on the system - as it turns out, Ubuntu and Intel got together for this and it's a direct simple install (this version). Right out of the box, so to speak.
The little box is great. Ubuntu, however, has changed a lot since I last ran it. Embracing a bit of a simpleton's outlook. I can forgive the pre-installed links to Amazon (for example) as they give this away free and maybe they make a little from it. But the software download mechanism (for example) is now much of a cellphone mentality setup. The screen, a 32" TV, is being seriously over-scanned. I can't fix it on the TV end so I turned to xrandr. Not working out well. Luckily, changes are not persistent from the command window. This is not playing well with others as I remembered from Ubuntu of by-gone days. It's not even as intuitive as the Raspberry PI running Raspbian - with all the abbreviations inherent in that distro.
I don't mind the added user-friendly - but at some point they're degrading the usefulness of the system.
Well - another few days and then I'll take the Linux Mint challenge, as recommended in the original thread. Or maybe I can find a friendly-install for some other version.

This turned out to be more of an Ubuntu update than a NUC update. But, I suppose if it just works...what else is there to say? I take it that less is more.
Also...18.04 is out, why'd you settle for something that's now over 2 years old?

Cause it's got LTS at the end. I like getting a car that has SS or GT at the end, it just has to be better.
