Hi All,
I checked my Outlook calendar today, nothing! Joy to the world I can get on with stuff. Fibre / Copper interface testing. Need to get a fresh optical cable lock PC go to lab come back, see a reminder 'Lessons Learned Meeting Board Room' cue muttering...amble to board room, go in, surrounded by management cue bad feeling, paranoia. My boss comes in and quote 'What are you doing here Glenn, I didn't delegate to you, did I'. I'm off like a shot! So has anyone seen appointments not in Outlook appearing on the Windows 10 lock screen?

I'm shopping for D cell batteries.
Just checked five sources and I find that Target, Walmart, and Office Depot are all three beating both Amazon, and eBay.
I haven't purchased a regular alkaline battery in several years now, and I don't know what I'm looking at.
(Aside from some really excellent marketing and packaging)
Who wants to bring me up to date on what's going on in today's market with D cell batteries?
I am quite interested in Reading whatever you know that I don't.
And thanks for helping me with your better brain.

Check they are Alkaline, and "genuine" D cells: D battery - Wikipedia[^] (look under "Dimensions and Capacity")
If they don't tell you, there may be a reason ... I buy Duracell Industrial (for AA and AAA sizes, I don't use C or D cells) and they last well for me.

I second Duracell, for the few times the rechargeable ones should not do.

Duracell Industrial are they called Pro-Cell...

Don't know - these are the ones I mean: Amazon search[^]

They changed the name a few years ago (2015?): Industrial by Duracell[^]
So if you find ProCell for sale, they are probably quite aged by now ...

Don't buy throw-away batteries damn it man, think of global warming and the environment.
I would recommend LSD or pre-charged batteries especially for 'C' and 'D' size cells and a suitable charger.
You can get D size pre-charged cells in 8500mah capacity, they should last ages.

But it's pricey, and it doesn't last long.

Pricer yes, I'm not too sure what you mean when you say it doesn't last long?
Do you mean capacity? The Duracell is quoted at 15000mah, the rechargeable is quoted at 8500mah so around half the life/capacity.
It should be easily possible to get 100 charge cycles from the rechargeable D cell if kept within the operating specifications for discharge/charge and temperature.
In the UK:
Pack of two Duracell D - £4.99
Pack of two Ansmann D - £24.99 + Charger £16.99 = £41.98
So yes it is pricier to go with the LSD solution but after 8-9 charges you are in profit.

It's a drug, no idea what it stands for. Quantity, effects, something else doesn't last long.

Lysergic acid diethylamide apparently.

It probably works out at about the same price as beer, but it doesn't last as long, and has marginally worse after effects.
