I would have thought a conspiracy of politicians would be an obvious choice.

I think the dictionaries have got there first: A lie, an odium or an equivocation of politicians. I'm happy with any of those.

Hi All,
Had an interesting issue a piece of simulation software of our design, used to simulate products we have to interface to which are too big, expensive, heavy to use a real one of in dev. I had sent a message the sim, it hadn't picked it up while the Web mimic said it was displaying the sign wasn't.
This is not the first time I have seen this issue the first time when a member of the dev team came to see it. I obediently followed the steps that led to the fail and it didn't, so now I look even more like the Lemon they think I am...

Quote: I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon tree
I'm turnin' my head up and down
I'm turnin', turnin', turnin', turnin', turnin' around
And all that I can see is just another lemon tree

Nope. Never heard it before in my life.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I did some research and it turns out this song was a major hit in the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. But strangely enough not in the Netherlands.

They'll stone you just like they said they would
They'll stone you when you're trying to go home
And they'll stone you when you're there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

If you want to do this, the install files require almost 50GB of drive space. Even when compressed (with 7ZIP), the files required FIVE 8gb DVDs!
It seems to me that they're trying to cram 10 pounds of crap into a 5-pound sock. I think it would be more convenient if they created an ISO for the basic Visual Studio, and created additional ISOs for all the crap that not everybody needs, such as game dev, .net core, and cloud dev. There are better ways to distribute this app.
Of course, that's just me.

hah, I downloaded everything for the vs2019 offline install
even though it did install from the offline files it refused to start the install unless there was an internet connection.

That's only for the community edition I think.
We installed 2019/MSDN yesterday, and it did not require an internet connection.

Just be thankful it's not still distributed on floppy disks.

I had a good bitch about this when I first downloaded it, not least because it's several thousand files with no indication of how to split them up onto DVDs.

We tried 7-Zip to compress and put them on DVD's but we had problems (probably the cheap media we used). We decided it was probably better to get a thumb drive or cheap 64gb SSD and put the files uncompressed onto it.

That's what we ended up with. We figured it was safer to install from a thumb drive than risk getting 98% of the way through and have the installer fail because it couldn't find a file that was on the first DVD.
