He only mentioned the new industry, not the job, maybe he's working in the software department? Or, better yet, in QA?

I think Peter_in_2780 is right, and the general population won't be around so much for a couple of weeks - so I think perhaps the next CCC will be in the new year - specifically Monday 6th January.
If you have objections, then raise them here, and also I'm tempted to drop the "themed week" completely as it doesn't seem to be that popular. Again, objections below please!
Have a good break - all of those CCC'ers who are having a break - and "normal service" will resume in the new year, unless the objections get too strenuous.

No objections form me. I agree the "themed week" does seem to produce a decent amount of tumbleweed.
Only thing I do disagree with, and this might not even be something you can do anything about, but any chance of getting rid of the new year completely? That way I don't have to return to work

That's slightly outside my purview; you may need various Acts of Congress / Parliament / Dictator-in-Chief to get that one through. Would be popular, though.

You could move to China. That'll postpone the new year by a few weeks.

Dropping the themed week is a good idea - ditto the break until the 6th Jan 2020

That is funny. But the industry value is growing rapidly, everybody wants a piece of the action. I worry what downsides us gamers will face once the government bodies get their claws in... I guess just the usual crap, "gaming tax".

Add gaming to the product name and you can sell it for twice the money.

Then make it pink and sell it for triple.

Oh, this will definite be the next step. A trainer that allows you to reload your gun by 'tapping your foot' would be very popular. Basically, just allowing mapping a 'foot tap' to a specific button/command.
