If they cancel the Tokyo olypics and there is no trrack and field events, is that to stop all the racists? If so what about the swimming competitions and all the relays?
BTW I was nevre fast enough to be a racist or racer.

you'd think the Japanese would build robots to replace the athletes,
I mean they got robots for pretty much everything else over there.
heck, they could even build robot audiences too
...except for English football audiences - even robots have limits to nastiness and profanity inventiveness.

But I do like upvoting, so I tried to downvote your post to indicate that and failed.
I will have to report you as a troll instead in compensation.

Staying at home isn't boring at all. But I have a question...
Why don't they work harder to ensure that cans of pork-n-beans have EXACTLY the same number of beans, and pieces of pork?
And now that I know there's a problem, I feel like I have to check ALL of the canned goods as they are consumed.
When I have enough data, I'm gonna start writing some strongly worded letters.

Why don't you write an article for a consumer magazine: "Statistical Variation in Contents of Canned Goods"?
(My feeling is that CodeProject isn't quite the right place for this...)

But I am doing research on fly wing oscillations, specifically beats per minute. I'll keep you posted!

Since it is packaged on a volume-limited basis that is the only criterion they can be consistent with. They fill the cans to a consistent volume level and that is the only thing they can almost guarantee. What that volume actually consists of is a crap shoot.
"They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers! Can I get an amen?"

I haven't seen the package in question, but I can almost guarantee it's sold by weight, not volume.
That's how companies selling potato chips can get away with these "big bags containing mostly air". The weight is clearly written on the bag; as long as what they sell you weighs at least that much, consumer can't complain about some sort of misrepresentation or false advertising.

Steam is giving "Tomb Rider Raider" (the base version) for free.
Just log in and it should come with the news.
Valid for the next 36 hours aprox.
Expansions are being offered very cheap but not free

I couldn't see it in the News, but a site search after logging in found it as about the fourth item on the list: it's "Tomb raider" BTW, not "Tomb rider" you need to search for.

Being a gentleman of ah ... how shall we say ... ah ... more mature years, I am 'social distancing' big time, i.e. staying home most of the time - so I signed up with Idagio, THE classical music streaming site. Currently I am taking the sound part of the HDMI stream and feeding it into my somewhat over-the-top HiFi system using RCA stereo connections. I have two different HDMI adaptors. The HDMI to RCA audio and PAL/SECAM vision has better sound quality than the HDMI to Audio 3.5mm jack and VGA, which, of course, gives a full 1080p picture, but has lower sound quality, probably due to being a cheaper bit of hardware. Because the old laptop I am using had multi-media aspirations, a lot of bass boost was put into the headphone socket, making it unusable for a direct connection.
I am thinking about buying a USB input Digital to Analogue (DAC) device which will output to RCA to feed the HiFi. With my Adagio+ subscription, I get 320kbps/44.1 quality, but I am not sure of the USB2 capabilities - is it a maximum of 192 kbps as I have heard mentioned? If so, the whole thing is a bust.
What I want is true CD quality - which I am paying for with Idagio+ - but not sure how to get it from the Win7 laptop I am using to the HiFi system without quality loss, which is currently apparent using the DAC built into the laptop.
Knowing little about hardware, I would be very grateful for any guidance from the CP hive-mind.
