I'm trying to figure out YAML pipelines and Environments in Azure DevOps.
A build YAML pipeline is easy enough, as are the classic pipelines, but an Environment YAML pipeline is a bit more complicated.
Guess what the official example is to get you started?
- script: echo my first build job
- script: echo my first deployment
Cool, but I want to do REAL work, which at least involves an artifact with some files!
Is it really that hard to write an example that you could actually use in a real world scenario?

It's one of the things I hate - I'm researching for some Go stuff at the moment, and as a side-issue I looked up examples on the Web for MongoDB - 3 examples were wrong in various aspects .. not 'hard' stuff, but enough to make it hard for a newbie not to get the point

That's the worst!
I recently had an example of some JavaScript library to work with a third-party API.
About 10 lines of HTML, head, load script, body, some div and a couple of lines of JavaScript to do the library magic on the div.
It did not work.
I searched and searched and debugged for about an hour, obviously expecting something like my login credentials not working, or having set wrong access in my account.
After an hour I found the error, the script tag was not closed which is apparently very illegal
Come one, if you test that sample for two seconds you'll see that it doesn't work!

Two seconds to see it didn't work...
An hour to make it work
Either I miss your point or you'd better said nothing indeed

edge on linux: possibly a glimmer of hope?
let's face it, ms has some great apps, but they suck at operating systems.
(technical skilled fanlemmings - before you speak: do you really believe ms server could feasibly host azure? It can't and you know it. End of argument and that means windows also needs to end.)
on the other side, the "windud subsystem for linux" tends to point at their path being exactly the opposite
- or does it? ...is it the start of the plan to slowly chip out winduds and graft in linux under their apps??? It sure would make a lot of sense.

"Hope" for what, exactly?
Was anyone "hoping" there'd ever be a single browser engine out there, that all browsers (except Firefox and Safari) would be based on?

I listed a few meetings to watch in each day (knowing that I will watch them later), and started yesterday evening...
Saw maybe a quarter of it, but found it really boring and repetitive... (most of my interest in these days are legal-with-modern on/out Azure + security)
Anyone else saw something? Some recommendations to watch?

I find a couple of "news from Build" much more interesting that any build video I could find.
I started to have some doubt when I saw the event scheduling, all the event titles look rather bland an uninspiring...
But later I found some summary talking about .NET5, WinUI3, MAUI and MVU, all of that was cool!
