The "please" was just polite - it's so rude to tell people to "Enter" when a "enter please" is available!
SAPPHIRE is right, but #0F52BA[^] is "Denim", "Sapphire" is #00217A[^], several orders of magnitude away!

I should have guessed that there would be nothing standard that involved CSS ...

Useful site (especially for us colour-blind developers, when we need shades and tints of a colour). But there is a hint here: scroll down and the page shows hints and shades of the colour (with RGB values) which wouldn't really work for an officially named colour...
BUT more importantly, this changes the definition of the CCC OTD (by setting a precedent); if it can now include symbols and numerals in the answer, it's no longer a crossword, surely? Updated - I see the answer is actually just the word "sapphire" (8 characters), not the hex string originally suggested.

Thanks David, wasn't aware of those. I will experiment with them. For me as a developer (though I am always clear I am NOT a designer!) I sometimes need to implement "themes" based on a client's existing corporate colours. Trying to create tints and shades can be a problem (I've not attempted to do it scientifically using calculated RGB values) but the site referred to looks to have done a lot of the hard work for me.

It would be even more useful if people stopped using colours that aren't 'real'. The world would be a much better place if everyone accepted that: purple is just a shade of blue; orange is yellow; and brown is green.
And, even better..... whenever I mention that I'm colour blind: stop asking: "What colour is this/that?". What is wrong with people?

My father had monochromacy - he couldn't see colours at all apparently.
It certainly added a new terror to his night driving when approaching traffic lights.

It's whatever colour you see it, really. If you're very quick, you can anticipate that question and turn it back to them, asking what colour they see the grass as, or that tabby cat, and fall about laughing at their answers.

Not sure how I feel about that. I do hope it is entertaining though. Keanu is 56 years old now. I am not sure if he can jump between buildings and dodge bullets like he used to, but I guess if you are in the Matrix, anything is possible.

He made it to John Wick 3 in good form I thought.
It was only in wine that he laid down no limit for himself, but he did not allow himself to be confused by it.

The bad guys now get energy from the humans inhaling and exhaling through masks that convert kinetic energy into electrical energy, and each human is polarized so that when they get into proximity of each other and move about, there is a dyno-magnetic affect that creates more energy.

After seeing Matrix 3 I realized that that was two sequels too many.
