I just checked and according to Online Sources1 car accidents halved in 2020 due to Covid and lockdown.
Would anyone care to bet that will result in premiums dropping this year?
1 So it must be true.

The premiums will probably rise due to "COVID-related expenses".

Mine dropped massively, but only because I switched providers.

I see insurance companies starting to push more of the "per mile" type of coverage.
When mileage picks up again, people may wind up paying more.

Bring it on. I've been working from home since 2007 - I bought my car brand new in 2006. It's still under 89,000 km.

USAA runs auto insurance in six month increments - my Feb 2021 - July 2021 premium went down. In addition I received two premium credits that effectively covered over three months of premiums back in credits in 2020. I had USAA apply those credits to future payments, which means the normal monthly payment was zero for two of the months and significantly reduced in two other months.

GEICO dropped my premium for the second half of 2020. It seems back up, again.
Also, I code for an automotive type insurance underwriter and they gave premium credits to their drivers, too.
I have no fear, however, that even though they made extra profits during the first half, with low occurrences, they'll still feel the need to recover the "lost" revenue.

In my state they forced all car insurers to pay refunds. You know their IT depts went on spending sprees to try and keep as much money as possible.

I feel the knead to post this, that was a half baked ToTD any way you slice it. It probably will be universally panned.

Judging by your direct roll, it took a lot of crust on your part to post that. At yeast in my opinion.
