Don’t forget Global Dimming.
It has nothing to do with the average IQ of the planet!
There was an interesting documentary on what happened to the average temperatures when every commercial flight in the world was grounded for days.
We need those clouds!

Heh,
It's trending on the Ycombinator news front page[^].
Looks like someone else discovered the unusual properties of the high-dimensional sphere packing geometry I mentioned last year.
A high-dimensional sphere spilling out of a high-dimensional cube despite exponentially many constraints[^]
Here are the atoms IBM imaged[^]. You are actually looking at the perimeter of the outer electron shell.
If the singularity at our galactic center contains particles (that move in higher dimensions) packed at the maximum density then their field lines are extending out past the Schwarzschild radius. You don't need dark matter, singularities build some kind of structure/field.
I discovered this strange geometry years ago. I also mentioned this last year[^] here on codeproject. The question is whether or not this represents anything in our physical world.
Best Wishes,
-David Delaune

Vikram A Punathambekar wrote: Look at the second response The second response there is just talking about the difficulties in using our human minds and intuition to comprehend distance and properties in higher dimensions. It's actually relevant to what we are discussing here, but completely irrelevant to the question being asked on stackexchange.
For the question being asked on that site, the first and third answers are good answers.
He is right though.

Finally the 'rona caught up with me.
Been sick as a dog over the weekend.
The irony is, that I caught a cold (negative) the same day the family came home from Germany, so we self quarantined just in case.
The only time I left the house before getting sick for real was for my pre booked booster shot.

You have my deepest sympathies.
How are you feeling now?
When did you have the booster?

It's possible it was the booster your body was reacting to rather than Covid itself - the first jab and the booster both got me briefly, whereas the full plague knocked me down for two weeks (and continued to leave problems for months after).
It is designed to trigger the immune system to prepare it for meeting the real thing after all.

I think WK is going to need to level up pretty quickly ...

Might have been a combo.
Will take a while for the results from the PCR to come back, but the LFT was very positive so I don't have any doubts.

Sneaky thing snuck in before the booster had fully powered up.
Having said that, my neighbour and his entire family caught it last week. Their son had it and one by one they went down. All full vaxxed and boosted, and very mild (and in some cases no) symptoms for them.
A doctor over here said they'd had zero deaths from omicron in fully vaxxed people, and I guess that's the goal of the vaccines.
cheers

Damn right it is!
It's been clear for quite a while now that we will all get immunity. I prefer to get my immunity from a vaccine.
But even then, this weekend wasn't fun at all.

Is over here in Melbourne or Toronto?

It was somewhere in the Greater Toronto Area but I can't find a reference to the remark unfortunately.

It's the hand to face factor. If it's not too obvious I tend to keep my gloves and eye wear on (with the mask). Door handles, rails, etc. can't be avoided completely.

Reasonably.
Feeling good in the mornings, but the fever keeps coming back in the evenings.
And I'm so tired still.
The brain fog is what disturbs me most though.
You get used to fever after a while, but the brain doesn't.
Getting better every day though, just to slowly for my taste.

Hmmm,
Can't seem to solve this one. I see a thermopile[^] component in there but it doesn't fit.

Well, now I know what a thermopile is.

Herself is a Thermophile, if that helps?
If the temperature is significantly below that required to melt lead, she complains ...

Took a bit of shuffling...
HYPERNOVAE - anag of ON PYRE HAVE, certainly extremely violent explosions!
Software rusts. Simon Stephenson, ca 1994. So does this signature. me, 2012

Damnit! I thought of that, but missed the anagram!
Well done!
