I usually use netnerd.com. Not as cheap as namecheap, but unlimited storage and email addresses. Responsive to service queries, usually responding within the hour (though I haven't submitted a ticket between midnight and 5am yet).

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!" - Hunter S Thompson - RIP

... regular popups in the browser claiming to be from McAfee, telling you that you have just visited (or tried to visit) to an infected site? It then tries to get you to do a scan (or scam). It started a couple of weeks ago and I managed to block one site, but now another one has started doing it. Also if you know of a permanent way to block these idiots ...

I add sites to block to my HOSTS file. It's over 620KB now since I have added so many. I started with this one : Blocking Unwanted Connections with a Hosts File[^]

I can block it in Chrome which seems to work. I guess that (or the hosts file) is all we can do.

Now replicate that hosts file on all of the devices that connect to your router, and you get an idea for how much better something like Pi-Hole is as a solution.
Even better, the block list is community-maintained. I think there's a dozen entries, max, I've explicitly added myself. One of them being (.|^)facebook.com$

If you're running McAfee, uninstall it. Windows Defender is about as good as any anti-virus software.
If you're not running McAfee, install and run Malwarebytes, which is very good at removing the kind of infestation that can cause this kind of problem.

I don't run McAfee, nor will I ever again. As far as I can tell the problem comes from other web pages, and Chrome successfully blocks them.

I've never seen it, but I run Firefox. It's curious that it would be a McAfee pop-up. Maybe Chrome is a paid shill for them.
