This thread again?
Ok how about this: windows 7 and 8 don't exist either. They're just Vista's offspring .1 and .2

Windows 7 and 8 are sold at stores.
Nedella and Microsoft employees have yet to declare what the next version is.

None of those are Microsoft.
All are rumors.
Each of the Windows Threshold Screenshots say windows 8.

You seem to be pretty passionate about this subject. Seems like there are better things to spend your energy on. But to each their own I suppose.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

you seem to care a lot about what they are calling the next version and what everyone else is calling it.
Prior to the release of 8 people were calling it 8 despite the fact it hadn't been officially named and did that change the world?
really if that is the only thing you have to worry about then just be thankful and stop trying to wind us up.
I cannot understand why someone with the experience you claim to have would give a fig what they call the next version

I care about credibility of programmers, who I am learning clearly have none, and these threads make it easy to show the public that you don't have credibility.

Well, even "Windows 7" tells me it's really "Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]" .
It's just a frickin' name; it just doesn't matter.
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

Heh, I never noticed that before. That's pretty weird, it was definitely marketed as a full version number not 'Vista.1' (Win 6 is Vista), and I'm pretty sure there were fairly major back end changes that justify 7 getting a proper version number bump.

Windows 7 is 6.1
Windows 8 is 6.2
|
|
|
|

That doesn't matter no
What matters is reality and there is no Windows 9 in reality yet.
So pull your head out of the clouds

Yeah exactly, and no one at Microsoft has declared what the next name will be yet.
