Lord David of Luton is, finally, fully digested by the Luton Waste Management System: of course, that's just another way of saying that he is running off at the mouth, and seeking to be a political orifice.
Of course, I wish him many happy (ballot) returns with no hanging chads; I suspect he'll get the serious tippler vote face-down, as well as the soccer-fiend with advanced tactical weaponry vote, and I believe those demographics are a large segment of the populace in Luton; whether those demes are able to find the polling stations, or mark a ballot, is another question.
I trust that, shortly, Luton will, as we Americans say, "have the best politicians money can buy."

Last December I started an OpenSource project on GitHub
https://github.com/superlloyd/MenuRibbon/[^]
I liked it so much I thought of backing up my super secret take over the world project on a private GitHub repository ($7/pm), but then someone saved me at the very last minute!
Bit bucket, free for up to 5 developers!
(Currently just me! ^_^)
https://bitbucket.org/[^]
Now my work is all in a GIT cloud!
From being sworn to Mercurial only just 3 month ago!
All super easy to setup!

I have been using BitBucket for my private repositories for about 2-3 months now and no issues until now.
BitBucket + SourceTree -> Easy Life!
Your time will come, if you let it be right.

Source tree looks quite functional!

Good for you!
We use bitbucket here at work, exclusively. I also use it for my own projects, as well.
Tortoise for Git works well with bitbucket, too.

Oooh! Thank you!
I didn't know about BitBucket - will sign up this evening

Great!
I must admit, after using Git now for a few years, and finding myself going back to SVN for a client's project, I actually find Git to be easier, especially with a UI like SmartGit/Hg. The ease of seeing what changes were made, etc.
So, for all my b*tching and moaning about Git in the past, amazingly enough I now prefer it, though it still occasionally causes gnashing of teeth!

I'm seriously considering the move from SVN to git. Quick question though, does this UI app integrate with Beyond Compare by chance?

I have no idea, but I doubt it, especially since Git's diff uses that horrid <---- and ------> (or something like that) denotation of changes, which I find impossible to read, and therefore need a UI to actually tell me.

Thanks for the link. Is there a limit on the size of the repo?

No idea!
Though I think I read somewhere sometime ago that there is no limit, but they check that you just put code and don't blow up the repo with movie or not code related stuff...

What about binaries / run-times? One project I'd like to use this for, I pre-compiled the binaries for wxWidgets, and I include them in the repo so when it pulls them down I always have them. Thanks btw.

Should be good!
Have a look at visual studio online too!
Free Git/TFS repo for less than 5 people!
And you can use you already existing Microsoft account

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Thanks.

Visual Studio Online[^] also has unlimited private repositories for #Devs <= 5, plus free unlimited Stakeholder licenses. Also includes Application and Project lifecycle management tools.
Your choice of GIT or TFS repositories.

mm.. I should have a look at that one day....
I have to say "visual studio" + "online" .... just the association of those 2 names discourage me to look into it!
but now I just uploaded my project so it's too late!
|
|
|
|

seeing as I already forgot my bitbucket password, maybe I should take a visual studio online account!
