Yes, I can see that, but it was an attempt at a genuine help. Ah well.
Thanks for resisting.

Price is up to $15 for Black Friday today, but that's still a significant discount on some courses' regular prices. Actually I forgot to post about that here. I picked 7 courses for $10 each at the start. Agree that there're nice courses @ cheaper prices.

Every time we saw a sign saying, "Buy Now! Save 50%!", my dad would say, "Don't Buy Now! Save 100%!". That's how I feel about most buying opportunities these days.

Hi,
As I am sure many will know I am looking for a job, as such I have recently had several face to face interviews and am waiting for the results. How long am I supposed to wait for the responce, I am thinking now I have waited long enough for results (a week plus). I know the accepted line these days appears to be 'if you hear nothing, you ain't got it', also agents calling with Private Numbers gets on my nerves as you don't know if it's an agent or a PPI claim. I had one this morning picked up the phone, it's still connected to the charger drop phone and when I get the phone to my ear the line drops...

after 1 week, call and ask for the status. Sometimes the process takes longer and the'll actually appreciate your interest.

In my experience, if it's a yes they respond the same day (for small to medium sized companies). Larger companies 200+ employees take a couple of days (more people to interview and more HR bureaucracy i guess).
In any case, good luck.
And yes agents with private numbers are very annoying...

After a week a quick call shows interest, and allows you to ask "if you don't mind telling me, what persuaded you to pick the other guy?" - if nothing else you might get constructive criticism of your interview technique.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Bet you he wouldn't, they would be worried he might sue for slander or drop by and smack them around a bit. I faarrrkkkking hate the fact no one has the balls left any more to let people not only know they haven't got the job but explain if they haven't the experience or knowledge in a particular area.

When I changed to my actual company I had 2x Set of interviews
The first time, I called after 10 days to ask, they told me to be patient because they were doing other related things. I had to wait almost 3 weeks to get the "sorry, but the acquisition of the new project failed and we can't hire new people right now".
Second time (3 months later they contacted me to offer me an interview for other department) I got the "If you want it, you have it" after 3 days.
A company called me last month to ask about a CV I sent them in mid 2014
Time is a variable thing, and it depends a lot on your attractiveness for the company.

If you got the interview through an agent call them as often as you like, although I've found the tend to call each day even if they have nothing to tell you then go quiet when they find out you haven't got it.
It is good practice to ask when you will hear from them at the end of the interview, then you are more than justified to chase if you've not heard.

I just noticed that all Intel Corp. articles begin with
"This article is for our sponsors at CodeProject."
(e.g: Intel® IoT Platforms: File Transfer for Linux using SCP[^] )
If CP is sponsoring Intel then I guess we are pretty rich! But I fear that the intended meaning is the slightly clunky "sponsoree".

I just looked at the article. In the top right corner there are pictures of boards that seem to be in the same sphere as the Raspberry Pi.
Also if you look at the Author it is a Code Project Group member. Clicking on the 3 members hyperlink gives me Chris Maunder, Gunjan Rawal and Joel De Guzman.
A quick Google of Gunjan Rawal bought up an option that had Intel at the end. Clicking it shows she works for Intel.
I reckon that Code Project is sponsoring the Piesque boards as they will be used as a coding tool for the beginners with little money. Look out for a forum for these coming soon.

For all martial arts people out there.
I'm writing a "paper" for my black belt exam. The paper is about why some techniques are easy for some and very difficult for others and why some techniques sometimes never seem to work. I explain this by using the "Cycle of Considerations"[^] from Kenpo (We're doing Jiu-Jitsu/kenpo hybrid) and try to add some solutions to the problem.
One simple example is that it could be difficult to throw a person with an 'o goshi' (hip throw). One reason for this might be that it is a large (and/or heavy) person. In the cycle of Considerations you could see this as "Environment" and the solution is to try the technique with someone smaller (and lighter) or to use another technique.
A few questions for those who want to respond.
1) Do you know other models similar to this Cycle of Considerations? (Can you point me to them?)
2) If techniques don't work for you (or your partners/colleagues a the club), what kind of problems are those and how do you solve it?
Many thanks.

Sadly i am out of Martial arts for too long to give an appropriate answer to your question but i remember that we used our "enemys" momentum to cope with such problems as height and weight.
I remember that some throws could be done easily whilst using the opponents momentum to your favor and just directing it to your wished destination. But maybe this only worked with unworthy foes
