That's basically the argument I was having decades ago with a buddy of mine about Linux (he was a much bigger fan than I ever was).
His argument: The beauty of it is that if something doesn't work, you can fix it yourself!
Mine: This adds no value to the receptionist who just wants her computer to work.
While Linux has improved tremendously, my position's still pretty much the same. I'm a developer, maybe I could fix some of those problems myself, but I just don't have the time or interest to become a Linux kernel expert - I'm trying to solve my own problems, not somebody else's.

Dark Buddha Rising - Ashtakra I[^]
I've known Dark Buddha Rising for years, but the recent release of the Waste Of Space Orchestra debut (which also featured the SOTW) has renewed my interest in them.
Members of DBR play in WOSO and Atomikylä, together with members of Oranssi Pazuzu.
Out of those three, DBR sounds most like WOSO: slow, low and heavy doom metal.
And with "only" 15 minutes Ashtakra I is the shortest track on the album.
This stuff isn't for anyone, but if you're into doom metal you can't miss the Dark Buddha!

How's your piano lessons going? Was thinking of you after YouTube recommended another one by this guy. Sometimes its nice to play those in the background.

I don't know what you did, but I got two emails of your message earlier this week, but those were gone.
Then I got an email saying you wrote a message which was somehow deleted, but you asked about my piano lessons and posted some music.
And now I see two separate messages, this one from four days ago while you sent that yesterday.
Something's borked up
Anyway, piano lessons are ehhh... going
I'm trying to finish up To Zanarkand[^] from Final Fantasy X.
The notes are there, but I'm losing too much time moving my hands, making lots of mistakes, etc.
I just started practicing Aerith's Theme[^] from Final Fantasy VII, but it's surprisingly hard
I've seen the guy you posted before, very nice indeed

@chris-maunder something funny is going on with this particular thread... Messages disappearing and then suddenly showing up again
Nothing serious (I hope), but you might want to look into it.

Can you see if you can grab a screen shot of it for me? I've been staring at it a full 5 mins and nothing has disappeared or popped into existence. Should I open a bottle of something good in order to force the process a little? I'm happy to, purely for research, you understand.
cheers

It doesn't quite work like that.
David's post from the 16th wasn't there when I followed the link in one of the two mails I got on the 16th.
But when I wanted to reply on his new post from yesterday, I suddenly saw the one from the 16th.
I'm very sure it wasn't there the 16th because I received two emails from it and I looked for it.
Also, when I followed the link in the upper right corner on CP I didn't see the message.
David noticed that his message was never visible when he wanted to write another reply yesterday.
It's just there now.
It doesn't disappear or pop up, it just wasn't there until yesterday (the 19th), when he posted his new message.
This was the message I received in my mail yesterday "Here's something you might like: Flagitious Idiosyncrasy In The Dilapidation @ Obscene Extreme 2018. Not quite my cup of tea, but her voice shocked me for such a small frame. Somehow my earlier reply was trashed, in which I inquired about your piano lessons and linked something like this: Relaxing Piano Music."
As you can read, the message is now "Here's something you might like: Flagitious Idiosyncrasy In The Dilapidation @ Obscene Extreme 2018. Not quite my cup of tea, but her voice shocked me for such a small frame. Somehow my earlier reply was trashed, in which I inquired about your piano lessons and linked something like this: Relaxing Piano Music." because David suddenly saw his previous post too after posting this one.
It looks alright now, but the message from the 16th had a three day delay before becoming visible.
Somehow, David's new reply forced his previous reply to become visible.
Feel welcome to have a beer (or something stronger) while researching this, you'll probably need it

Yeah, I know it doesn't work like that. I was just looking for an excuse to drink.
I have no sensible answer for you. Our caching works on a full-thread by thread basis so it's difficult for messages to get out of place. They are generally there or not there. It wasn't stuck in moderation was it?
cheers

Chris Maunder wrote: It wasn't stuck in moderation was it? Don't think so.
I didn't see a "queued for moderation message" or anything and the timing was to perfect.
Maybe we'll never know.
I don't think I've ever seen it happen before either, so if you can't find anything I guess we'll better let it rest.

My initial thought was maybe you have multiple servers, and somehow they got out of sync (ie, one of them was rebooted right after I posted my reply). But I've never dabbled in that stuff, and think it would bring on a headache to get into it!!! I'm happy to leave it as a mystery.

That's a... Interesting band name
Looked them up on Spotify for some better quality studio recordings.
I didn't expect an all-female Japanese grindcore band!
Here's some Japanese female-fronted metal that more closely meets expectations: BABYMETAL - ギミチョコ!!- Gimme chocolate!! (OFFICIAL) - YouTube[^]

I think so - it was in my "CCC Collection": I keep them so I can put up a (hopefully) good one in an emergency.
