No hiking boot that I've ever seen or used is waterproof, even in the military boots were designed to breath. The only complaint he had was mud stuck between toes.

Quote: Great hiking shoe but watch out! This shoe is very comfortable and pretty lightweight. The mesh at the toe breathes really well, but it has no water resistance at all. This is not a problem because the shoe is not advertised as water resistant but you should be aware that even walking through wet grass will get your socks wet. The good news is that this shoe is so well ventilated that they will dry out. Overall I really like it and would recommend it!

And I thought photography was expensive.

I can afford the shoes. I can afford the carbon fibre bottle cages. I can afford the aerodynamic helmet and ergonomic riding clothes.
However, if I bought all of that I wouldn't be able to afford an actual bike.
But I'd look great.

You can wear it around the office and pretend you ride everywhere. Just park your car out back...

On a similar note if I had all the lenses I wanted I couldn't afford the camera.

Prefer these[^] like wearing slippers and no laces.
Will try for a pair of Ecco when those wear out.

You're going to need to explain that one.

Maybe it's just me, but these shoes looked like having a hair on their's soles*. Of course this impression went away after I'd switched to a view from the bottom**.

Oh, I suppose so. They are intended to give you good grip so your feet don't slip around whilst you are hitting the ball.

So, how long before we get Puffer Pushers in the inner cities?
A whole new breed of adverts will be needed:
"Cod? Just say NO!"

It's Japan, for Pete's sake! Japan is the very definition of weird (at least to most other cultures)! Have you seen 'I survived a Japanese Game Show'? They do the strangest things!

I try very hard not to think about Japanese game shows, used underwear dispensers, and so forth. Even the Japanese girlfriend I had for a few years couldn't get me interested in them. Though she did introduce me to Tempura and Teriyaki - both I which I still enjoy from time to time.
