Here are some alternatives to FreeCAD: best-open-source-cad-tools[^]
FreeCAD is rated highly, but might be overkill if you only need 2D.

Depending on what you are using it for, I can recommend fusion 360 - it has a free-to-hobbyists / education / startups version and it's damn good when you get used to it. I use ti for 3D print modeling: Adventures in 3D printing Part 1: Fusion, you CAD![^]

It was a big ship, travelling at a decent speed, so I put some figures together for you to explain the delay, which will undoubtedly come in very useful in your next pub quiz.
The momentum with which the Ever Whatsit hit the bank is the equivalent of:-
a fully laden Boeing 747 travelling at 12,285 km/h
a Lockheed Martin F-35B in standard flight mode at 458,333 km/h
a fully loaded Ford Transit van travelling at 1,774,194 km/h.
For those with imperial tendencies, that's 7,634, 284,795 and 1,102,433 mph.
A fruit fly could achieve similar momentum by flying at close to the speed of light, but this would be entirely due to relativistic effects.
Aren't you happier now that you have that useful explanation at your fingertips?

I honestly have not given the situation more than 10 minutes combined thought since it happened.
I really, really don't care....but, I am glad you do.

Hah! Just wait till they get it free - then they'll send it over to block the Panama canal - then you'll care, right enough!
... or not, as the case may be.

Somehow, I don't think this will happen again - at least on purpose. The U.S. Navy is involved now to free this ship, and I think there will be a meeting of the minds over this for sure, to ensure it does not happen again.
I'm not worried enough to bother with a care.

And here I am wondering why QA posts don't update in any real time when there's content added to them. On the weekend.

Am I the only one wondering what the equivalent speed would be to achieve that momentum for an unladen swallow?

I'm just waiting for the required 15 minutes before I can head home - and I'll be back in around 12 weeks for the second dose.
No problems so far, except for the bloodlust and the howling at the moon. I'm pretty sure I had the fangs and fur before, didn't I?

I don't know which jab you had, but I had my second Pfizer a couple of weeks ago. I had no side effects from the first jab, but after the second one I kept feeling cold, even in a room at 21-23°C. It is just wearing off now.

I slept for 7 days straight after my first Pfizer shot on 3/14 (had to take 2 days off from work). Then, like a light switch, I was fine; not tired anymore. weird. Only side effect.
I get my 2nd vaccine shot next Saturday.

The two of us both had both Pfizer shots. Negligible side effects. Just a somewhat sore shoulder the second day, which meant I couldn't sleep on that side for one night.
Get me coffee and no one gets hurt!

Same here with my wife & I. My daughters didn't even have pain at the site of the injection.

Mine gave me fairly bad flu symptoms the evening I got it, lasting until about 3pm the following day.

Just wait until that chip they injected gets its first Windows update; that'll knock you out.
[I was fine for 36 hours after my Pfizer jab; then spent 24 hours feeling like I had flu; then was fine again.]
