Yeah, but that wasn't my issue.
My issue was I wasn't being as clever as my program was. It found a simplification for my regular expression that I didn't understand at the time even though I should have. It was a prolonged brain fart on my part. It wasn't a knowledge or tools issue. It was just me being a goof. Thanks though!

I think a little Microsoft has rubbed off on you!

and not just a feature, but a feature we planned to release 12 years from now.

I've used it before, but it wouldn't have helped me here. My problem was a prolonged brain fart.
I *know* [a-z_A-Z][a-z_A-Z0-9]* will match foo, bar and baz. I was just spacing it off, because I was expecting to see a loop around (foo|ba[rz]) and it was (rightly) eliminating it.

So the real question is…
What happens when you use the second expression as the input to your engine?
Does it return the same value?
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, it does.

Did you actually listen to the whole thing? I couldn't and I have completion issues. Bailed out at 5 minutes.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

You lasted longer than me. I think under 2 min for me, lol.

This guy has been around a long time and also I've tried to figure out these various people who "tell the secrets" and how they actually make money.
I'm pretty sure all they do is keep you on the hook...
The longer you watch the video the more advertising revenue they generate / get.
I'm pretty sure that nothing he says actually means anything, if you listen.
He just keeps going though because the longer the video plays the better for him.
There are a lot of people who leave the TV on all day so they don't feel lonely.
The modern thing is to leave Youtube cycling through videos all day in the background so you dont' feel lonely.
These people generate income off of that. Smart and dumb at the same time.

I lasted about 1-1/2 minutes. What a steamy pile of BS...

Thanks for the link. I signed up for the "be a senior software engineer in a bunch of lunches" class. I am already making 100K euros a year. All I had to do was give them my bank account info. Should receive my first payment next week.

That guy in the video is really full of himself. I have seen a lot of his videos over the years. Some of his content is good, most is meh.
