I appreciate the warm sentiments you express - but was it about the shearers or the constables?

They really really really need some sort of distraction -
Maybe send OG over there, with a flock of sheep, and have him give a "lecture series" ?
I mean - how much worse could it get than it already is?

OMG - I didn't realize the "art" had evolved to the level where there are actually "pro" sheep. Oh, my poor mind's eye - why did you not blink in time?

It has been run for I think over a hundred years. Quite famous.
Anyway, I was thinking I would use flat, smooth soled boots, so they skate down the hill. You might reach about 40 mph though!
Apparently the cheese is doing 80 mph at the bottom.
There are a few famous sports in the UK. Shin kicking while wearing white coats is one, then there is a football match between two villages, each team has about a thousand men, and the objective is to get the ball into the other persons church or some such. Of course the injuries are famous.

Working on commercial inkjet printing systems[^] would be a whole lot more fun if it wasn't for all the stinkin' messy damned hardware.
The pointy-haired types want a warning when the machine has been running for 48 hours straight without a maintenance stop. The code was written by someone who is long departed, and I've made a valiant effort to not disturb the ambient artwork while adding this new feature.
Getting this working has been a PITA.

I remember the mess from my commercial inkjet dev days - that ink wouldn't travel far to correctly mark the product, but it would go a looooong way out of it's way to wreck another shirt ...
I think my least favorite part was handling materials compatibility with the inks - the damned aliphatic hydrocarbon base was a PITA to deal with. And what it was OK with the solvent based ink would eat.

Fortunately we haven't done solvent-based inks in a long time; the fumes were horrible.

Not fun, but better than MEK. Didn't have the drying time though, but you could use them in chocolate factories.

We tested with MEK for a while. One of the programmers here had his lab moved to another part of the building the fumes were so bad.
