When I saw some other news article mention the same thing, I thought maybe there is a missed understanding of first program.
Calculator might be the first "traditional" program they learned, but not realising that Minecraft and many other games have obscured programming mechanisms.
Compare that with atari/commador (before my time so I might have a skewed perception here) that had pre packaged software, but also books which require you to write in the game before you can play it, hence becomes your first program you wrote, although maybe 95% copied with your tweaks.

A lot of snark, but I've attended some coding meetup groups and almost everyone there is doing some sort of front end web developments for which they use JavaScript. I've been impressed with how quickly some of the demonstrators have put together working solutions.

So basically it was a bunch of US corporate leaders feeding telling politicians bullsh1t about what will allow them to screw every possible penny out of every possible sucker, no matter the cost to everyone outside their corporations how they will take the world forward to a bright and wonderful future.

- The part where they play-act about the *THREAT* from foreign technology producers, who aren't saints like them.

Today, we are announcing .NET Core 3 Preview 2. It includes new features in .NET Core 3.0 and C# 8, in addition to the large number of new features in Preview 1. ASP.NET Core 3.0 Preview 2 is also released today. C# 8 Preview 2 is part of .NET Core 3 SDK, and was also released last week with Visual Studio 2019 Preview 2. I think it needs a few more versions on that name.
