I learned COBOL in school...was thinking of brushing up on it as it sounds like COBOL programmers are in demand 
...some people hate it but I don't mind it...it makes me feel nostalgic for the old days.

COBOL will NEVER go away, there's just waaaay to much code written in it. Every time you buy food at the supermarket, every time you withdraw money from your account, every time you take a book out from a library etc etc. COBOL is ubiquitous and it's here to stay.

Cisco announced that it been working on a next-generation open source video codec, called Thor, that should sidestep all patent issues that current codecs such as the HEVC have presently. You mean like Ogg, VP9, Daala, XVid...? Great unique idea!

Meh... I know many people use the same password on all their accounts so a hack at one is essentially a hack on all of them.
