You're assumption that Ubuntu One was ever "tough" is questionable. 
Canonical plans to make the code for Ubuntu One available as open source so others can build their own open-source services.
That would be interesting to look at.

Today the Windows Library for JavaScript (WinJS) is taking its first step to becoming cross-platform: it is released under the Apache 2.0 license as an Open Source project by Microsoft Open Technologies. When in doubt, open source it.

Microsoft spent three hours today showing developers where it's going in the next few months, and beyond. As usual, its annual Build conference was chock full of code demos, but the company also spent its time showing off the next update to Windows Phone, which features a voice assistant named Cortana. Just in case you're a little... Hey, a squirrel!

Microsoft's competitor to Apple's Siri is named "Cortana".
I noticed that "Cortana" is an anagram of "An Actor".
Update: I just searched with Google and found out that Cortana is a character in Halo 4 too. I wonder how Microsoft picked that name.

This is the biggest joke of a 'landmark' case I've ever seen. They basically gave him a stern talking to, made him say sorry and then let him go outside and play before a quick timeout. That's the equivalent of the suspended sentence and small restitution. Guarantee those fines are just a drop in the bucket compared to what he made off the scams.

Not sure why they wouldn't just call it 8.2, although from reading about it there seems to just be a handful of UI tweaks nothing really major in the update.
