In all seriousness it's the largest growth OS and it provides the greatest opportunities for social engineering and malware attacks.
For now I'll stick to the Fort-Knox-like security [^] of my Macs.

I suspect made worse by it's best feature: the openness. While security through obscurity doesn't work, it does limit people from just strolling through the OS source code to find vulnerabilities.

Except that WebP has distinct advantages - it is basically like a combination of GIF, PNG and JPG.
Most importantly, JPG does not include support for transparency, which is quite an omission.

I have, and it annoyed me. I wanted to save the picture, but it was in a format that was completely useless to me.
It's great in theory and all, but annoying unless more support appears.

Mozilla was less than impressed when they tested [^]it last year. They only saw file size improvements at very low quality levels. The only one to beat jpeg across all quality levels was one derived from the h265 video compression standard.

You completely miss the point of Webp. It's like jpeg with an alpha channel. No other image format provides that.

If that's the main point then not just the article Kent linked (which only mentioned it once) but every other article I've seen (many of which didn't mention alpha at all) is missing the point too by trumpeting Google's claiming it's making things faster and saving them gobs of bandwidth vs Mozilla claiming it needs larger file sizes to get comparable image quality.
