At its annual shareholder meeting yesterday, some Microsoft shareholders were more than a little concerned about the company's mobile strategy, or if it even had one. Now why would they think that?

I suppose you write articles about Tiobe's farcedex every month the same way you write a blurb and link to it every month.

That's because new generations of programmers are being fooled by the shiny easy thingies promised by Google & Co. Plus they don't have nor the education, the wits and the brains to get to learn the serious stuff.

Hmmmm, either...
0) C lost half its popularity and VB became half again as popular in the last year
1) One or more of the 3rd parties Tiobe scrapes data from made a major change to their output again (like what happened to java in their index a bit over a decade ago)
2) Their index is a dumpster fire with no relation to reality.
... I know which one of the three I find far less likely than the other two.

Since there is an alleged programmer shortage; how about taking the programmers from these projects and put them on the one with shortages?
(FWIW, I've seen no shortage of programmers, just a shortage of budgets for them.)

I think pvs-studio is a good tool, but it's not a silver bullet. It'll find a few bugs in your code, which often are just potential bugs, rather than real bugs. Still worth trying (especially considering that it's now free).

In this GOTO Copenhagen 2016 talk, Mads Torgersen invites you to play around in the key of C#, see why it’s not your uncle’s, and discover where the language is headed. "Take another look. Please another look."
Probably nothing new here for people (especially if you're already using C# and looking towards 7), but handy all in one spot.
