That reminds me, I should whitelist CP on my new adblocker. Changed from AdBlock+ (with CP whitelisted) to uBlock a while ago. I know Chris et al. do a good job of showing us the ads we might like to see because other people make good software too

Cornerstone OnDemand, a company that sells software that helps employers recruit and retain workers, analyzed data on about 50,000 people who took its 45-minute online job assessment (which is like a thorough personality test) and then were successfully hired at a firm using its software. "Correlation does not imply causation" (but yeah, it must be true - stats never do lie, do they?)

well the good news I suppose is that once your biometric password is pwned it's easier to change your face with a strait razor and baseball bat than your fingerprints; which have an annoying habit of growing back after you try removing them. OTOH your fingerprint can get pwned 10 times before you reach the crisis point, but you've only got two irises and one face.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
--Zachris Topelius
Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies.

While Microsoft has dropped hints that the Internet Explorer brand is going away, the software maker has now confirmed that it will use a new name for its upcoming browser successor, codenamed Project Spartan. May I suggest Microsoft Chrome Downloader?

More lipstick for the pig.

So how does killing the IE brand improve the HTML5 compatibility of "Spartan"?
|
|
|
|
|
My understanding is that no "new" stuff will be done with I.E. but it is still sticking around for awhile due to compatibility issues.
IMO, Microsoft really should get out of the browser business altogether. I don't think they will ever come close to making something as good as Chrome....ever.

With new specification, run one application across devices[^]
Through a new specification announced on Monday, the Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) Foundation wants to provide a common framework through which developers can write an application once and then run it across servers, mobile devices, gaming consoles, appliances and PCs running on different processors.
haven't we see this sort of thing before ?
How did that go again? write once, run nowhere

LMAO! Every few years we see something like this that goes, usually, nowhere.
