There are quite a few common wisdoms when it comes to C++ and games. As it always the case when facing a bunch of common wisdoms, some of them have their merits, some are obsolete-beyond-belief, and some are just taken from a very different context and are not really applicable. Just in case you want C++ lessons from a bunny

One of the central features we’re trying to add to both VB and C# in the near future is tuples. Who needs individual variables anyway?
But I am having nightmares about the return of "Recordset" programming
|
|
|
|

I have been waiting for this feature! Having used Lua and Python quite a bit, I love the multiple return value system. It is quite useful.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism.
Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

Do the 'Tuple facilities provided in .NET, now, not count as "real" Tuples ?

No. Read the article carefully - it worth it...
But for short...Today Tuple class is a... class, while the new solution to be is about using inline initialization (no heap)...

Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Thanks, Kornfeld, for the heads-up; I did read the article and, once again, was thankful I gave up VB for C# many years ago. For me, using a 'struct is the best way to wrap-up a bunch of Types if I want a "leaner, meaner" way to package data. But, I have made little use of the existing 'Tuple class, partially because of its Item1 ... Item#m syntax.
cheers, Bill

I need qutple, puples, suples, ouples and nuples,
How about just creating a damn structure?

I was about to post basically the same

I don't have to worry about that one then I still use VS 2008.

A new report out by the BBC is showing that tech and online giants Microsoft, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook have pledged to remove hate speech within 24 hours. "All you need is love"
|
|
|
|
|
You know what's gonna happen now...
0) People become angry and look for alternatives
1) Startups appear, claiming no censorship in order to draw in users
2) Startup becomes big enough to be noticed by "tech giants"
3) Startup owner sells out to highest "tech giant" bidder
4) Go to Item #0 (wash, rinse, repeat).

I'm not comfortable with that statement. You're a racist homophobic atheist, and I hate you for that. Please provide me a safe space at your own expense.

If JavaScript so important than why not to:
* learn it?
* teach it?
* develop IDEs for it?
(I'm writing JavaScript for almost 15 years, and I'm writing it in JavaScript! I know, it is unbelievable...)

Most people's lap disappears when they stand up and start walking around.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

"French investigators avoided the Internet, stuck to word processors and renamed Google ‘Tulip’ to prevent leaks as they prepared a secret tax raid at the company’s Paris offices last week.
“We decided to never utter the word ‘Google,’ to give the firm another name” and “we worked on this case fully offline for nearly a year,” Eliane Houlette, the financial prosecutor, said in a Sunday interview on French radio Europe1." [^]
